Here is Amethyst's cutie mark. Sort of similar to her grandmother's, but it has a diamond inside the star.The reason she why she didn't earn her mark is when she was born. Fearing that her life is in danger, her grandmother, Twilight Sparkle used a powerful spell to bring her to life. Amethyst grew up studying magic like her grandmother. She wasn't a student at a magic school, but she has been learning from her grandmother. Sort of a bit of home-schooling.
There's another importance why she didn't earn her cutie mark when she was a filly though. It's because of her ignorance of the TRUE magic. The magic of friendship. She hardly made friends because she felt happy and secure with her grandmother. That is until her disappearance...
Amethyst grew immensely worried for her grandmother that she searched near and far, all over Equestria...
And that's when her story of the Magic of Friendship begins...
