Description

Arkaine
“..your wisdom son...”
Musical Inspiration: "Firestarter" -- Prodigy
Behind this image;;

Hello all Well it's official I am home from the United States. I had an absolutely amazing time; so much photography to upload and so many ideas for manipulations. I can't wait to do them all and get realy stuck in, especially with all the photos that I collected for stock!

Well I don't really have much to say with this piece, I know I should try to write stories for my pieces again, so maybe I'll come back to this one, he looks like he deserves a story to accompany him in his lightning strike journey... so for the most part see this piece as you will and when the story is created you can see if you were right! ^^ But I'll give you this much..

Arkaine; the lightning bolt bearer, his colouring of muddy brown, his markings rare giving people the assumption that he's in fact a zebra and not a horse. He hates this, the anger bubbles beneath his calm appearance and static charge rumbles towards the twirled bone jutting from his forehead. Eyes glow gold as a crack and rumble can be heard, shimmers of brilliant white light crackle along his horn before exploding out of the end and eveloping the landscape around him in a halo of piercing colour... he feels like a freak.. but everyone thinks he's a god.

I'm only accepting constructive crits on this piece of artwork; nit-picky comments will be ignored, if you have the time to write something nasty you have the time to write something good/helpful to change it to make it better.

Enjoy,

I love how shiny he is! And you really pulled off the lightning bolts - they don't look unnatural like these things usually do. Awesome job!

Duuuuude, welcome back.

This is what they define as coming back with a bang, eh? Everything looks amazing; I wanna say flawless, and the way the rain drips from his muzzle is beyond mesmerizing.

You know, I believe *Breathless-dk 's running a contest... *nudgenudge*

This is beautiful, what an awesome little character!

Only thing I may suggest is perhaps trying out a slightly blue or green tinge to the image... in nature, powerful electrical storms often give off a blue or greenish light, I think it would really help the atmosphere. I love how it is convincingly night-time though, you've done a great job with that x]

welcome <3 i know! well i saw you returned to equidaem recently, great to see you back there as i love following your art. i've been good, just really sad that i haven't had any muse, energy or time to make manips this busy summer. did you literally go like on a trip, or just a hiatus from EQ? curious :]

devils-horizon In reply to venomxbaby [2010-09-17 22:00:18 +0000 UTC]

Awh I know; I could check dA every so often but because I froze my account on EQ I was like "Must see the status of my horses!!" so I logged into there first! LOL So sad...
Yeah I did go away I went to the US for 3 months! hehe; firstly working at a summer camp in PA and then travelling all over the US and Canada It was AMAZING!

ahh i see. lol i hate that too. wow you were here in the states where i live. glad you liked it :] sounds like a fun summer! i hope i get to do a big road trip someday too, i haven't even been to the west coast of the US yet. but then again i'd rather visit the UK first hehe. i have this image of rolling green hills and lots of horses over there.. ireland, scotland, the moors, the lake district.. great for pictures, right?
