I sketched this on lined paper a while ago and I wanted to paint it in OC, so I did.This took quite a while but I like how it came out.

i hate human made versions of the sonic characters (except eggy of course), but this pic is so good i had o comment on it. this is absolutely wonderful. although i have to say i still dont like human versions, you did this wonderfully.

Being a fangirl myself, well...
I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA.
Wagering a guess, though, it's probably because he's just plain fangirl bait by design. Darker, edgier alternate protagonist with cool powers and a traumatic backstory that makes everyone go "aww, deep down he really just needs a hug" while he murders alien supersoldiers with his bare hands.
It also might be because he's one of the more serious characters and thus it's hilarious to drop him into awkward and/or ridiculous situations, but I'm assuming not everybody is as weird as I am.
