Description Dr. Tepes entered his office to see the man of the hour. "Pastor Helsing. I must admit, I did not expect to see you so soon."

"I did not expect to be here to soon, my friend," the handsome pastor said. "Apologies, Dr. Tepes, but I must ask a favor of you."

"You wish to collect the donations earlier, I suppose?"

"Yes. The church has been experiencing financial difficulties."

"There have been less follows of the Christian faith, as of late. I suppose Catholicism is to blame."

Pastor Helsing sighed. "The crimes of the Pope seem to be the crimes of the bible in the eyes of the masses. When will people realize that the Pope is just a man, not the voice of God he so vehemently claims to be?"

"Men are weak to great power, my friend."

"You speak the truth, doctor. I pray that I will be able to repay your kindness."

It took all of Vlad's strength not to grunt in pain.

In this day and age, faith in God has weakened significantly. Most churches are nothing more than empty boxes, while most crosses are just fancy pieces of jewelry people wear for fashion. People who claim to be of the Christian faith usually tend to be liars who only call themselves as such for a foolish rush of superiority. None of them were able to make Vlad so much as inch in discomfort, for none had the power of God on their side.

However, Pastor Helsing was a rare exception, along with a rare few others. Their faith was so genuine that their very presence could harm Vlad. Of course, if he could get hurt, none of his vampires stood a chance, which is why Vlad had so many human doctors and nurses at his command.

Being "friends" with Pastor Helsing was uncomfortable, but it helped with his guise. After all, why would a vampire possibly help a man of God?

"I'll transfer the donation funds immediately. I hope you'll be able to participate in the next blood drive as compensation?"

"Oh, but of course, doctor," Helsing said in an almost excited tone. "It would be my honor to aide the less fortunate with my blood."

"Thank you, Pastor."

"No. Thank you, Dr. Tepes. You're doing the Lord's work."

Vlad could almost feel parts of his flesh begin to sizzle, as if threatening to combust.

"I try to do as best I can, my friend. Now then, not so sound rude, but I must ask that you leave. I have much work to do, you see."

"Of course, doctor. I did not mean to interrupt your duties to the people. A good day to you, sir."

"And a pleasant evening to you, Pastor."

Pastor Helsing bowed with a smile before leaving Vlad's office.

Moments later, Vlad fell over, having to grab onto his desk for stability as he panted heavily. "Speaking to that man is paramount to TORTURE for me. Still, I need to keep up this ruse. If the church is on my side, no matter how small it may be, it will keep the hunters away from me. Not even Belmont can explain away the supposed Count Dracula from aiding a church."

Vlad then walked over to a cabinet, opened it to reveal a minifridge, swung the door open, and took out a wine bottle. It looked like it was full of dark wine, but it was actually full of blood, Vlad yanking off the cork and chugging down some blood to recuperate.

He let out a loud, heavy, yet satisfied sigh.

"Still, dealing with an actual Man of God is exhausting."
