Beautiful. I actually had the fortune to see this actual collasus piece at the Pharaohs of the Sun exhibit when it was in Chicago. I remember having, what I would describe as, a "spiritual" experience as I stared at the sculpture for at least 20 minutes. He is my favorite of the Pharaohs and I proudly wear a tattoo of this piece on my right shoulder.

Thank you.
It must have been magical to see it for real and means a lot to you to get a tattoo.

From afar, I thought this was an actual picture of a statue.

a.k.a., Amenhotep IV, the era of his reign was a milestone period in both Egyptian & world history...

You're more than welcome... Yes, it was. (I used to teach history)...
Back in the 1950s Hollywood made a film about Akhenaten, called "The Egyptian" (loosely based on Mika Waltari's serious historical novel of the same title). Albeit done as a typical for the time Hollywood melodramatic costume drama spectacular, it's still worth a look if you happen to come across it...

Thanks George I'll keep an eye open for it.

It's not a great film, but if you know the history behind it, it's worth a viewing nonetheless... Ironically, one of the historically accurate scenes in the film that caused people then to "dismiss" it, is the one showing the physicians of the time doing brain surgery. (Just one of the many surprising things the ancient Egyptians did, and with amazing success.) ...
