Both ancient and contemporary ideas, I feel that because Klingons are romantics for the past they would wear armour, perhaps that of their ancestors. Also why not just armour that can absorb a phaser? If we are advancing weapons so much it makes sense to do the same for armour.The top right one was me trying my best to come up with a style that wasn't influenced by anything found on earth. But I didn't like it as much as the other ones.
