Biography:

Hedwig’s father came from a military family, while her mother was the daughter of an economy tycoon. Their marriage was an economical gambit, but Mrs. Andersen, being quite young and naive back then, actually had feelings towards her stern and dutiful husband. As she got pregnant a few years later, he got drafted to solve pre-war conflicts and has barely been with his wife during the course of pregnancy. Out of constant worry about her husband’s wellbeing, Mrs. Andersen had a premature delivery, giving birth several weeks too early. She got separated from the baby due to her poor health condition and developed a sever PPD. Since then she has been mentally unstable and unable to form a healthy mother-child relationship with Hedwig.

Overwhelmed by the task to care for a baby all by himself, Mr. Andersen hired a nanny to care for Hedwig and decided to raise her in the only way he was familiar with – the way his father had raised him once. Ever since then Hedwig’s childhood has been shaped by discipline, private tutors, faraway boarding schools and the prospect of a high ranked military occupation. Being a tender yet responsible girl, Hedwig never complained about the path chosen for her, feeling obliged to carry on the family’s tradition although she had soon realized that it was not something she could indulge herself into.

Hedwig enrolled into Milizia at the age of 17 and her stay there has been more than beneficial for her. Once shy and withdrawn, more peer interaction and making friends with others helped her maturing into someone less anxious and timid, granting her to have confidence in her abilities and herself. While the 1st semester of her junior year went pretty well, she faced several problems during the second one. The unexpected leave of a person very important to her paired with a chain of misunderstandings affected her greatly and caused her to fall back to her old, secluded ways. Drawing herself back from friends and social gatherings for several weeks, she wasn’t able to concentrate on neither studies nor training properly. Only the severity of the 2nd mission forced her to get over it, making her realize that apathy was not called for in times like this. After figuring out that her approach to what was awaiting her after graduation had been wrong, Hedwig more than ever pushed herself through extra practice, work and risky tasks throughout the mission to defend both - her home and friends. Although the mission failed in the end, her determination and diligence qualified her for the role of an officer.

-Has an obsession with cleanliness. When she sees recruits wearing their uniform messily she might as well go up to them and pluck at their clothes until they look presentable
