Description And there we have it. The end of the story.

The whole gist of this story is basically to retell a real-world-fantasy-cliche-story in a different way. Everytime I see those type of stories, quite often, it's shown that the main character, who came from the real world, has it so much better in the fantasy world. But then there are stories where the main character drops into our real world and has it better, too.

But in reality, is it the switching of worlds that makes them happy? More often than not, it's the mindset that needs a little fixing before they can truly feel happy.

In the case of this story, there's happy endings for both real world and the fantasy world.
Happiness is sometimes far closer to us than we think.

I may have drawn and written this comic, but credits must be given to many people who have helped me out.

Sincerest of thanks to:

To God. Seriously. I owe it to him for kicking my lazy butt off the couch and making me draw this.

To *Mangakawa and *genji-rose . The dialogues were initially painful to read because of the grammar errors. Good lordie, where did my England skillz go?! Thanks for fixing up my England wordz there!

To ~Maxsterism , *Sapphire1010 , and ~greenfrostfire for pointing out where I could improve the comic.

To *Kenton-Alkemi , for reassuring blur old Diana that printing the comic in RBG mode is NOT going to fudge up on actual paper. I almost printed it out on CYMK mode, it would looked pretty weird if I did!

And many thanks to others who've read this comic!
I hope you like it!

On another note: There was headdesk spelling error, but I ninja-ed in and uploaded the correct page. Tee Hee.

Wow... The comic was absolutely AMAZING. It had a lot of emotion and touching moments and the characters were realistic and likable. I especially how you did the colouring for both strips. Absolutely astonishing. This is exactly how I love your comics. ^__^

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was a fun process; it's not like the usual format of comics I use to dabble with.

The story is amazing. Both your creativity in both art and story is very good. I love how you convey the story of both worlds at the same time. All in all, this work is beautifully made.

I think this may be one of my favourite things to come from you in a long time. The comic was well-done, it looked professionally-made and had a unique feel to it.

If you were wanting to get into the comic or art industry somehow, I think you NEED to put this comic in your portfolio. It displays your comic talent, your creativeness and skills as an artist all at once.

Thank you again for posting this, Diana. This was an amazing one-shot and I enjoyed it greatly.

Thanks, I'm really glad you enjoyed reading this. Warms my heart to know that a lot of people actually like reading this kind of stuff, even if it's a little different than the usual comics.

I'm so glad to see you've posted this, I've always liked it.

And you know what? It's great that you made it at all, and submitted it! Not everyone would have pushed themselves to do that. I imagine a lot of people attempted and then gave up partway. But you finished it, which alone sets you apart as an artist.

And it is a thoroughly enjoyable comic. You should be proud.

Heck, maybe by posting it here, it could catch someone else's attention. Who knows?

Awesome comic. I love the coloring and the story, how you see both sides going through. Very nice. I feel like my comment doesn't do it credit, but- I don't really know what to say. It's a great story, well executed, the colors, the people, the way the story moves across generations... It all links together to make a very good read.

Haha, I've already seen this comic and I'm amazed by the execution of the colors and panelling and storytelling and- well yeah, the list goes on...

But I guess I can understand in a sense why it didn't go through, and the Divide was the reason why... While the story was followable, it's very hard for the eyes to decide where they want to follow. I could be following one side of the story, but then I worry if I'm reading it the right way, so I read the other side of the Divide, and then I go back to the other side, which kind of creates a break in momentum.

Still! At least you dared to try! I think that in itself is great, and it's not like this comic was inherently bad or anything, if anything it was great.

I can agree with that, actually! It started out with the left-to-right format, and it's up-to-down, and back and forth. Besides, this kind of comic format is not the sort one would want to publish in a magazine, too.

Thanks. Lost or not, I'm glad I got this done at all. Thanks for reading and enjoying it!

Oh aaand.. you shoulda got into that contest. You have horrible luck of always losing everything at the last round when I think you're the best entrant Everyone else must have been REALLY good that you couldn't even get into this one o.o

Well, to put it quite frankly... the kind of people that joined the last 4 contests? They can eat people like me for breakfast. lol.

Ooookay.. comments..
First up: yay yet another parallel Killford XD
And secondly.. this was very moving and now I feel impossibly depressed. (sorry, it's not your fault) Cos there aren't opportunities like this in real life and I very much don't belong in boring normal get-a-job make-money don't-care-about-dreams world. Or normal people-without-mental-problems world. Or normal care-about-what-people-look-like act-like-your-gender-is-supposed-to world.. just generally I feel like an alien. Who can't distance herself from that because she just doesn't think like everyone else. And.. I don't have a family or a lover or anything so even the last line there can't cheer me up.
Guess its back to pouring my brain into creating more comics to keep me from going mad! I suppose at least I have deviantart friends.

Sometimes that is the only way to keep ourselves from going mad; doing the things we like to do best. Life ain't gonna be easy. But... it can get better. You'll see.

Aawww... this is SO sweet.

Seriously. I'm in such a mushy mood now. :}

He did end up being a hero in this world.

The most important person is someone's life. What's lacking heroism in that?
Fulfilling someone's expectaions from you is heroic.

BTW - is he a comic artist, to top it all?
