Hehe, had to look up Panzer, the German word for an insect's hard shell. Not that I've ever heard the English word carapace, but I'm sure carapace must be a perfect translation into Romanian

The passive voice in Romanian is made like this:
a manca - mancat (to eat - eaten)
a vedea - vazut (to see - seen)
a cumpara - cumparat (to buy - bought)
a scrie - scris (to write - written)
a aduce - adus (to bring - brought)
a ramane - ramas (to remain - remained)
And yup, carapace is the correct word
