Heimdall, one of my adorable ratties I photographed some years ago, when he had just opened his eyes.
He was an extremely playful boy who never grew very big and who loved spending his days playing with my hair. Such a sweetie! (a bit of a drama queen too, he loved squeaking for no reason, just for the sake of getting attention

My acquaintance have rats and she told me that there was a day when she was very sad and worried and one of her rats came to her and tried to comfort her. I thought then that they have to be really intelligent if they can read emotions of the other species and they care enough to try make their human friend happier.

I wish they would live for at least ten years, but the average lifespan of a rat is around two years old... he reached almost three though, and was a very happy and playful rat even when he grew old
