This probably seemingly comes right out of nowhere given I barely ever comment on things on this site anymore; I'm here mostly for following art/comics etc now but not much else so I don't think I've commented on this comic yet.

So a comic I'm following on here is "A flightless bird" by Songdog-StrayFang . If you haven't yet, go read it, it's great! (so are the other finished comics by this artist btw).

I was having a bit of an art block and saw the contest which involved redraws, so I sort of sketched a page I liked out in my own comic style. Eventually I decided to finish and color it, which is why the panels are so wonky.
it was made on very light sketching paper akin to regular printer paper so the color blending wasn't optimal.

I mostly stuck to the original format though changed some minor details and the last panel a bit in terms of composition.

The whole thing is mostly watercolor from lineart to coloring, with some touch-ups with colored pencil, Staedtler pigment liners and markers.

Hope I'm still in time for the deadline because I don't know how much difference the time zone makes.
