Description Figured I should upload something before vanishing for a while again. My work schedule is eating pretty much all of my time right now and probably will for a while so I don't have much time to work on personal projects or art.

This is based on a dream where I was in a cathedral because something was off and found a cult-leaderish priest who was deceiving their followers because they'd made a pact with a regional pagan deity behind everyone's back whcih was not allowed by whatever dream rules were there.
I then summoned a church grim through a blank canvas I splashed black water onto, which acted as a portal of sorts.
It looked like an off-proportioned greyhound with a face reminding of a gharial. Small pieces of debris and dust kept falling froim it, and caused a haze to surround it, like dust from a construction site.

In case anyone is wondering what a church grim is:
It's essentially a leftover from pagan beliefs where upon the completion of a church or cathedral, the first person who set foot inside of it was to be sacrificed and buried on the church grounds to act as its protector. Later animals were used for this purpose, and in Scandinavian countries they would often be buried within the foundation of the church itself. Dogs were a popular choice for this purpose for obvious reasons, but it could be any animal really.
Animals buried within the foundations of churches or cathedrals is also way more common than people seem to think (cats seem to have been a veeeery popular choice where I'm at it seems), since these beliefs persisted fairly long. Interring a cat and dog in between the walls of one's house for much the same purpose even persisted into the 19th century.

I plan on working on this some more since right now it's kinda empty.

I have learned of a new creepy custom today.

...Yay? xD
I have a vast amount of useless knowledge concerning obsolete (folkloric) beliefs and old customs, ranging from silly and mundane to creepy and horrifying.

Well I can relate. Mine isn't so focused on folklore, but I went to a museum with a friend from college the other day and as we wandered I'd point out things like "ooh that's a Eames designed modernist chair" or details about foxes when there was a mount or bones and he seemed surprised at the wealth of useless information I had.
