Description
Thursday's forecast is not very promising. The Daytona opener is only ten days away, and we may have a challenge with Mother Nature on our hands. We were at least able to pick up some mileage on a dry track this morning, but the afternoon and evening hours may be a different story entirely. As of the most recent weather page refresh, rain is possible around 2 PM (JST), and knowing that we are planning some wet weather testing in preparation for potential wet weather situations that may arise over the course of the upcoming season, some drivers are not too keen on driving in the wet. One particular example is Tails.
It is well-known to the whole world that Tails has astraphobia, and, unfortunately for him, there are thunderstorm and avalanche advisories in the area today going into tomorrow (Friday), which would not bode well with a genius two-tailed kitsune who is terrified of lightning. On top of that, Tails had a very bad experience with rain here last year, when during the first Saturday afternoon Sprint ahead of the 2023 Prologue Season opener, a sudden rainstorm drenched the circuit and left several drivers, including Tails, locking up on the damp pit entrance on dry tires, missing the pit lane entirely and crashing into the retaining wall, ruining their whole weekends. Suffice to say that Tails is going into today's afternoon runs trying so hard not to have an anxiety attack. However, if he wants to succeed in this series, he'll have to find the courage to run on a wet track when the time needs be.
Being a racing driver alone takes a ton of bravery, where you are literally staring death right in the face and cheating it, but mixing that in with rainy weather takes even more bravery.
