Description I have been working on this image for a lot of the summer. Charlie is an original character of mine that has very much become an important one.

I really tried to pay extra close attention to detail in this image. And I also made sure to spend a lot of time on the background, which I normally don't do.

Err... did you make the body so small on purpose?
With realistic style, I didn't expect you'd draw... realistic chibi o.o
I think it looks scary... the head is too big compared to her body...

the details are amazing, especially the eyes and her necklace Is it on 100% size?

The body should be in proportion. I was trying to do a bit of perspective to show she was turned, perhaps I failed in that and over did it. It was not meant to be a chibi.

Thank you about the details. Most of the detail images are not 100%. Close to it, but I had to size them a bit down to make sure they all fit to show all the ones I wanted to.

hmm... so actually the body was meant to be viewed from side? But you made it look like it's 3/4...

perhaps the other arm (the one in the back) should be much smaller... or maybe it's the shoulder... 0.0

Another weird thing is the nose, I think the nose should be sharper....

but the clothes and the necklace is superb. Did you use reference for the necklace? It looks like a photo 0.0

Well not from the side, 3/4 is right. Her shoulders are forward as if she's being a bit protective of herself. It's hard to explain, and apparently harder to get right drawing. I'll just have to keep practicing.

There are a few things I have learned since this picture, that I'd go back and change someday if I ever get time, but at the moment I'm too busy with other things.

I didn't have a ref for the necklace. I did spend about an hour researching antique jewelry styles to get an idea for the different way metal work was done a long time ago. The stones really make that necklace I think, and I followed Dianae's tutorial for help with the translucence.

I see.... if it's 3/4 perspective then I think the shoulder is too small, should be a bit bigger

Well that's it, it's not like I'm pushing you to change it, I'm just pointing possible mistakes for future references ^_^

gbu~

once again very lovely dear. I'd be interested in technical details like original working size, what you use in painter. Painter is still an enigma to me, everything you told me has faded into a distant memory.
I especially love the subtle texturing.

Thank you!! I actually didn't used painter as much on this one as I typically do. But a lot of the base of the background was done in painter. Tinting Rounds for laying down color, and Oils with low opacity and such for blending. This one was probably about 90% photoshop. The original images size was 5000x4500px at 300dpi I think. Had to drop it down to 4500x4000 because my old computer I started this on couldn't handle the larger size. New computer though should, so I'll likely always work over 5000px now. Hugs! Hope you're doing great!

groovy as always. A new computer does wonders for that. It was taking me nearly ten minutes to save an image over 3500pix and 300dpi. and to zoom in? FORGET ABOUT IT. so when i upgraded I went with a really nice 3ghz duocore processor, and 4 gig ram. Did the trick perfectly.
