Why do I like the idea of this eventually devolving into Slap Slap Kiss?

That is totally how the relationship develops. I guess I'm just predictable in that way.
Also Amy gets Pregnant, and their relationship starts off "Own up to this responsibility and take care of this baby or I'll curse your bloody face off" and then I think the two are able to learn more about each other during this task and eventually care for each other.

Well, most people who write next-gen couples have at least one Slap Slap Kiss so it's not that you're predictable; just that that's a fun dynamic to write.
That actually sounds like a reasonable reason for them to get "together". I could also see the first real moment of romance (though I use the term loosely) being when Fred II overhears some classmates (not related to any of our heroes of course) making snide comments about the fact that Amy's pregnant and how that proves Slytherins talk big game about purity but are just a bunch of whores and sluts. Fred snaps and chews them out, saying it was just as much his fault as Amy's and that they shouldn't make snap judgments about people, even Syltherins. Amy is touched despite herself.

You're really good with thinking up scenarios. If you have any Harry Potter fan-fiction I would love to read it.

Thanks. My friend who shares this account with me and I are actually doing a Harry Potter AU as part of our mega crossover. Due to an alien egg (either an egg, an alien or both landing in a world is the criteria for us getting it involved) that hatches to adopt Ron and Hermione as its parents, my friend's in-story alterego trips Cedric in the maze during the Third Task so he escapes going to the graveyard while Harry goes it alone; over the course of the story, Sirius, Fred, Hedwig, Lupin and Tonks are all able to survive to the time period of the epilogue (of course there's still a Fred II; he just has a cousin the same age named George II now). We also have the Golden Trio arranging the bringing down of the Statute of Secrecy during the period between the Final Battle and the epilogue. Then there's all the stuff that takes place out of universe (including Hermione giving a tea kettle piercing lecture or 2 to characters from other dimensions) but I won't go into that here.

Yeah; it is. It's kinda of fun having different characters react. Not to mention certain characters geeking out because they're meeting fictional characters they love.

I expect Amy is even less happy about the situation. Those witless Gryffs don't know how to keep quiet! I trust she's already learned how to cast an Obliviate.

Yes you are right neither are very happy about the situation. Maybe Amy should of thought of Obliviate before it was too late.
