The RE3 REvisited project was what I had DXP tackle after completion of the RE1.5 REvisited project.  He wanted to recreate more classic Resident Evil franchise locations and I was perfectly willing to fund him, given how well the earlier project had turned out.  I gave him a choice of four different games that hadn't gotten the full recreation treatment and he chose RE3.  Mind you, this was long before anybody knew Capcom was going to do RE3 REmake.  We officially kicked off the project in June of 2017 and from the beginning (and up until late 2021) all of his models of recreated classic RE3 locations were available to one and all at the ShareCG website  Once we found out about RE3 REmake we went out of our way to make sure what we were doing didn't interfere with Capcom's sales efforts, so I had DXP detour into recreating all of the extra Raccoon Hospital interior and exterior locations from "The Hive" scenario of the first Resident Evil Outbreak game, since both it and RE3 have Raccoon Hospital as a common location.  Once that was done and RE3 REmake had proved to be a market success, then we went back to recreating more classic RE3 locations.

Two things I should note as you look at these images.  First, they're somewhat higher quality than the RE1.5 REvisited recreations because I raised the poly limit for DXP from 100,000 polys to 250,000 polys per locale, in order to make RE3R's models good enough for posing (with the free XNALara XPS posing program) and for potential actual game recreation purposes.  RE1.5R's models had always been intended as references or base models only.  Second, I had DXP leave out all the wrecked and parked vehicles, partly in order to ease the load on him and partly because there's all kinds of 3D vehicle models out there.  I decided to let end users have the freedom to get, use, and place their own choices of vehicles at will in any given suitable RE3R locale model to meet their own project needs.  Looking back, maybe I should have had him leave out the bushes and trees too.  They were the worst to deal with during this whole things because of their leaves, which always caused the poly count to skyrocket in any given locale that had them. (chuckle)

The public side of our project got derailed in late 2021 when an unscrupulous fan hacker announced his own classic RE3 recreation project and began both using and data-mining DXP's work without credit.  This was actually the second time this happened to the RE3 REvisited project (the first was in the summer of 2018), but the first jerk eventually backed down.  The second one didn't, continuing to insist that everything was his despite all of the digital watermarks that DXP had embedded into his own work, so after more discussion we shut down the public side of the project and pulled all of its models from public download.  This would ensure, given that the public set was (and still is) incompete, that others of like mind could not attempt to do what this fellow had attempted in freeloading off of DXP's hard work.  He ruined it for everyone, sadly, and while the RE3 REvisited project continues in private neither DXP nor I have any intention of making the rest of the RE3 REvisited model set available for public download.  Furthermore, I for one do not plan on reposting the old previously released models either.  What those of you who fortunate enough to download them back when they were available do with them is your business, so long as you credit DXP for his work.  Re-post them, mod them, whatever.  Please?  Thank you

We hope to complete this ambitious undertaking in private in 2022.  I personally have no plans to fund any more classic Resident Evil recreations or any other Resident Evil related projects beyond that point.  I have my own creations to work with now.
