Project 633, better known in the West by its NATO code name of Romeo, was one of the last full classes of diesel submarines built for the Soviet Navy.  They were part the design evolution that included the prior Zulu and Whiskey classes, and they first entered service in 1957.  Only 20 of the 56 boats planned were built, with the rest cancelled once the Soviets figured out how to build their own nuclear-powered submarines, but those that were built wound up being testbeds of sorts for ideas and technology that wound up in the Foxtrot class.  There was also a Chinese copy built from 1962 to 1964 (the Type 033), based on "knock down kits" originally provided by the Soviet Union, and from which several unique Chinese flavors and variants were also made.  112 total were built by China during the two years they were in production.  Romeos were also exported both to other Warsaw Pact nations and those friendly to them by both Russia and China.  They were decent enough boats in their day, given that they were first-generation Cold War fleet boats that still operated very much like World War II era ones, although their original diesel engines were said to be notoriously unreliable and prone to frequent breakdowns.  In contrast the Chinese Romeo clones were better built and had more reliable equipment in most respects, although little else about them changed.  Romeo is considered dreadfully obsolete by current standards, although surprisingly enough there are a fair number still in service in certain parts of the world.  The only navies still using Romeos in any capacity as write this (early 2021) are China (the most at 13), Egypt (4), North Korea (4), and Russia (1 or 2 immobile boats used for training purposes only).  All of the rest have either been hulked or scrapped.  To find out more about the Soviet Cold War era Romeo class submarine, follow the links below:

This is the game stock model as ripped by others, with no changes by me.

This is not my model.  All I did was port it to OBJ for you.  Please credit Killerfish games for the original if you use this in your own 3D projects.  You do not have to credit me for my OBJ port.
