this is a very powerful photograph...I'm politically neutral but I'm faving this anyway. I'm a big fan of black and white but I definately agree that this shot is just as amazing in color.

It's sad. I'm commenting on this about a year later, and nothing good came out of that invasion. Israel caved under international pressure, and all they got back were dead bodies, in exchange for hundreds of murders back on the streets.
War is a terrible thing, and while it's nice that this picture shows that, it is shorted-sighted in realizing that if you don't stand up for yourself and your own safety, then you will end up like that burned baby.

the colored version makes the image on the sign she's holding way more intense and noticeable.
Man... seriously..
this has got to be one of your most powerful images ever...
I mean, this is history making...
her expression and her sign speak volumes...
and the saddest part is that our government still won't give a shit...
she's beautiful and yet there's so much irony in that when you look at what she's holding.

Originally I was going to try post a comment that was humorous, then I saw the image on the placard, of the burnt baby. And realised the gravity of the situation she's protesting.
Yes I feel the colour does add to this image. Although I am partial to B&W myself.

I actually like the black and white version better, but a few weeks ago I was experimenting with Photoshop a technique for realistic colorization, and this was one of the images I chose. Now I'll have to see how close I get.
I still love this one, though.
