Iori Yagami from King of Fighters

The baddest mofo to ever venture into the KOF, Iori Yagami has always been a favorite of mine since his debut in KOF 95. Interestingly enough I am not a fan of his new design in KOF 12 and am pretty saddened about what they did with him . But alas I am sure it will grow on me after I play it for a while.

Anyway on to the REDUX, Iori to me has always been about gothic meeting ultimate power. Not only can the guy throw down with the best of them but he always looks cool doing it. I still remember when he beat the crap out Sorie in the KOF Another day anime, that was priceless. So keeping these things in mind I wanted to make sure the REDUX still kept that intimidating look yet was also goth at the same time.

I kept his overall color scheme but I embellished about every other aspect of his attire. He now has Sephiroth like long hair, which I think fits him well. He is also now sporting a sleeveless trench coat with shoulder straps that has his trade mark insignia on it (to those who think the moon is backwards go look at all the SNK art work and you will notice they alter its orientation all the time in concept sketches). Lastly his pants now sport a doubled up version of his infamous leg straps. However to combat the whole 'the straps don't make any practical sense' I added buttons so they can actually break apart if he really gets pissed and starts kicking like crazy .

Overall I am pretty happy about the way he turned out and would love to actually play with him in a game using this outfit. Maybe someday we will actually see it in game .
