welcome. Ken should've known better than to use a Katse disguise as a costume, knowing how much it offends Joe.

Well, common sense does take leave of Ken from time to time...

I take it that Joe is in the background, because he got mad at Ken for dressing up as Katse and whooped his ass, and that's why he's on the ground looking all beat up, am I right?

Great, its good to know that people still like and remenber Gatchaman one of Tatsunoko's best. What do you think of some of the other ones they did like Cassshern or Hurricane Polymar. Its also very cool that you do cartoonsfor Gatchaman where could I see them. And yes that is something Joe would do.

Gatchaman is the most popular cartoon from Tatsunoko Productions, so it's no surprise people remember it both inside and outside Japan. I love the art style/universe for all Tatsunoko's "hero series" (Gatchaman, Casshern, Polymar and Tekkaman), but the stories in the other series are less accessible. To answer your questions:
Casshern: I like this series and I have the entire series on laser disk (yes, still). It's a heavy-handed, but powerful series, and you don't want to watch it while depressed.
Polymar: I just could not get into this. I don't know why. I tried.
Tekkaman: I don't like this one at all. Johji (the lead) is an asshole and the cutesy alien creature makes my teeth grind.

It is nice to see this one coloured. It is one of my favourites.

Thanks! I had fun with it. I still love Ken's expression. I'll have to color the "male bonding" toon too.

Joe hit him, of course. That's him stomping off in the background.

It was mine, yes. Reboekah has been taking some of my old cartoons from the Bird Scramble APA, coloring them and posting them on Gatchfanfic.

Joe could get further revenge by dressing up as Red Impulse -Ken always falls for that.
This looks great with the new colouring!

Other than that it's a popular anime based on a manga by Tatsunoko, no. That would explain why I didn't get it, then.

Diinzumo In reply to FakeKraid [2009-10-11 16:56:11 +0000 UTC]
Sorry. It's kind of old-school when it comes to anime. It was never based on a manga, as it predates the years where anything published in Shonen Jump was almost guaranteed to become Sunday night anime prime-time.

Oh, okay. But I do know it's Tatsunoko, since some characters from it appear in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
Yeah, it would be nicer if more than about one-in-ten of the Shonen-Jump-based animes were at all different from each other. Or good.

Ah, Gatchaman... what a legacy you leave. Hopefully the movie is still in the works and will leave a good impression.
Yeah, that's why I'm jaded on modern anime. Too many cookie-cutter series these days.

That's true, but there are still little (and big) wonders out there to find. Try out Jyu-oh-Sei (or Jyu-ou-Sei) for one. Nothing cookie-cutter about that. And Gurren Lagann looks promising from what I've seen of it so far.
The first anime I ever saw was the somewhat-abridged Robotech (based on the Macross stories). Looking back, it's a little soap-opera like for me now, but Veritechs are still my favorite realistic robos. Go Skull-one!
