Description This is a picture I did as a prize for of a Cretaceous variety of Dragon/Wyvern seen on an old Animal planet 'mockumentary' called "Dragons: A Fantasy Made real' that showed dragons as a hypothetical real world animal and how it might have naturally existed.Β
This particular type of dragon was a type alive in the Cretaceous period, and did not survive the same extinction event that wiped out the dinosaurs. It was part of a 3rd lineage of archosaurs, related to crocodilians, that had evolved the ability to fly. They supported larger mass by storing hydrogen from rotting meals in their gut, and could expel this hydrogen as fire be igniting it with chewed up platinum. This type of 2 legged dragon were quite large and could quarrel with Tyrannosaurs, but they did not survive the K-T Extinction event. Instead, it was descendants of a marine variety of dragons that had evolved a 3rd set of limbs as fins that survived the extinction event,, and then later evolved to life on land and then flight by evolving its fins into wings once more.Β

This looks great! You did an excellent job, it looks very fierce and unique. And that mockumentary sounds pretty interesting too. I might have to check it out in the future

Thank you, I'm glad you like it then. Yeah, it was a pretty interesting 'Mockumentary' for the time, it had some interesting theories and ideas for these dragons. Good luck finding it then, not really sure where it would be then, not sure where it would be beyond being pirated. Anyway, thanks for the fave too.Β

This looks really good, thanks for doing this prize request. I especially like how you drew its face and horns. The markings look just about perfect, too. I like how the red on the wings and the head looks, too. I forgot they had that little red spot on their heads.
