Description This is the Bongo (Tragelaphus eurycerus), its one of the largest African forest antelope. It lives in dense tropical jungles and bamboo forests. The Bongo's deep chestnut color and bright white stripes, on it's sides, help camouflage it from predators. Taken at the Memphis Zoo on 2-18-12.

That they are. Its amazing just how well that yellow mask of theirs help him blend into a bamboo forest, providing near perfect camouflage. Thanks.

Thanks. I thought of the title because of the way this stag Bongo would move in front of me as I was trying to take photos of its mates calf.
