Serenity and Artemis had a great mother daughter relationship, all during the younger's childhood and adolescence.

Artemis looks up to her mother, in her eyes, Serenity can do no wrong.

She thinks her mother is beautiful, not seeing her freckles, mole or scars; nor her large size. Artemis just seeing her loving mother and queen.

Serenity tries not to spoil her daughter... which was hard. Witches are naturally greedy and selfish creatures who cared mainly for themselves; they pick certain people to love and devote themselves to them.

It was clear Artemis was not going to be a good princess for their kingdom.

However, Artemis was smart and realized that her mother wore masks in order to get on in life, so understood early on to put on a performance for others to see but revealed her true self to her family. Just like Serenity.

If Serenity invited Artemis to a party, her daughter would attend.

Serenity would make it clear to Artemis if this was a family event or a royal event.

Artemis would love it most if it was a family event.
