Description
BUZZIBUBBEL
Known as All-Seeing Monsters (and sometimes locally as “Sodaheads”), Buzzibubbels are a floating, fly-like eyeball creature, ranging from the size of a bird to the size of an elephant, depending on how long they live and how much they can feed themselves with.
It’s widely known for its titanic compound eye head, sprouting out of an almost featureless body, surrounded by seemingly useless (but highly sensory) eyelash-like antennae. Inside the eye are globby, ball-shaped pupils, which bustle and shove eachother inside the eye as they fight for space and the best view of the world around them. As new pupils are constantly generated by a Buzzibubbel, they are constantly spewed out of the body- at which point they secrete a sticky set of wings made from their own tears to help guide them and take off into the night.
Dangling underneath a Buzzibubbel’s body is a set of larvae tendrils. While at some point they will drop off and become new Buzzibubbels, they function as limbs for the creature, and also as a means of spewing out pupils. When a Buzzibubbel wants to anchor itself onto a surface, which is necessary in strong winds, it spits a sticky proboscis out of its tendrils and latches on with them. The proboscis also secretes a corrosive slime when Buzzibubbel needs to feed- it melts organic material down into sludge and slurps it up.
How Buzzibubbel even floats around is constantly debated amongst researchers. Some theorise it's psychic energy- others suggest it’s powered by lightweight gas. Another hot topic is the mystery of where its pupils fly off to- it's thought that they just fly around, taking in every interesting sight they can find, until they painlessly dissolve into slime. They do seem attracted to garbage and other things a Buzzibubbel would find tasty, so perhaps the slime gets sucked up by a new Buzzibubbel and recycled into more pupils?

Hi, this one looks a little sketchier than my usual stuff because I didn't want to do lineart for it at all. I wasn't in the mood for it. But I thought of this concept today and just HAD to draw it and get it out there.
