Description Hey, everyone! On with the KCU, with Horror of the Deep finishing off with Ookondoru! Thank goodness this arc is a short one again. The design here is mostly me going ad lib again, but the beak and colour scheme were inspired by the version of Ookondoru seen in 's Dajjiverse. Ookondoru serve as antagonistic Kaiju in this arc who complicate Kong (and another Kaiju's) plan. With that said, on with the show!

Ookondoru by Ishiro Serizawa
Ookondoru are colossal birds closely related to condors. The only Kaiju native to Letchi Island, the Ookondoru are usually solitary creatures that fly out to sea to fish, usually preying on small whales and the occasional unfortunate fishing boat. In spring they gather on Letchi's cliffs en mass to breed, and they are highly aggressive during this time, mobbing intruders and slashing at them with their sharp talons and fanged beaks. This proved to be problematic in March 2021, as when Kong arrived on Letchi shortly after his disastrous clash with Ebirah he was mobbed by angry male Ookondoru (the Red Bamboo had apparently also had issues with the birds, who frequently destroyed their planes). Luckily, Mothra, who had come to Letchi to free the Infant Islanders the Red Bamboo had enslaved, arrived and assisted Kong in beating back the vicious birds. The two Kaiju then worked together, Mothra rescuing the Iwi and Infant Islanders (and getting caught in the middle of a ferocious dogfight between Red Bamboo fighter jets and Ookondoru in the process) whilst Kong clashed with Ebirah. Kong ultimately defeated the giant lobster, but then realised that the Soma juice was what was making him so aggressive, and with Mothra's help he removed the juice. The Red Bamboo were promptly destroyed by their own monster, and Letchi, and thus the Ookondoru, were left in peace as Kong (with the Iwi), Mothra (with the Infant Islanders) and Ebirah returned to their homes. The ruins of the Red Bamboo compound are a source of interest for the Ookondoru, with one large female even nesting there.

I love how you referenced that King was meant to fight Ebirah.

Thank-you! I wanted to give each of the KCU's three main Kaiju (Godzilla, King Kong and Gamera) to have at least one movie per phase.
