I'm no digital expert so I can't give you very good critique, but I'll just say the city lights give this a deeper feel. In God's house there are many mansions, and here we are looking at a few(MY PERSONAL interpretation on the meaning of that passage, don't take my word for it as the true meaning.).
Makes me wonder if another Earth full of humans exists in another galaxy...

great work, 1 thing i dont understand is why the stars on the top photo are blurred if those on the bottom arent?? they should be anyways because its a "shot" from distance

Really nice. This reminds me Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Your technique is very clean, I like the fact that you don't use lense flares.
you seem to have the whole planetscape thing down like an exact science.... It would be cool to see some contextual work involving the imagery, such as war, peace, psychology... mabye i missed those pieces...
Great polished results.

this is a strange thing i'm gonna write. i was watching your DA page at my father's house, when he passed by and said "space? planets? wow, what's that?". i explained and he told me to bring you his compliments. by the way, i think it's a nice thing, so i told you.

A masterpiece! WOW, WOW, WOW. Love your work.
I stumbled upon it through another artist's favourites. It's a pity, because I am sure that a lot of talent, such as yourself, goes unseen here due to the enormous volume of submissions. Well, I'm glad I saw it. You are a great artist. Keep it up!

Nice. I think I like Folkways better though, not sure why. Still, better than anything I've done.

Excellent work dinyctis. I love the concepts you've attempted here, and like someone else has mentioned earlier, got to wonder why on earth didn't think of it myself.
However, I have to question if it actually worked. Certainly not a question on your skill, but I am yet to see a single space scene that conveys a real sense of depth. Well, that was true, there is one pannel on your work, that to me especially accomplishes that. Center-Right pannel, it just seems to me that it 'works', in this case. There is almost a very real sense of depth here, and that city lighting is just astounding. - I would love to see an addition to your existing planet tutorial, or perhaps even a new tut all together on how you go about this. I got some ideas of my own, but am yet to play around with them. Still trying to master the technique from your current planet tutorial, specifically, the texture creation phase. But it's getting there, finally worked out what an idiot I had been for not desaturating the textures I was using first, but anywho, back to the piece at hand..
In the top frame, the right planet very much looks as if in the foreground. That works. However, the left planet seems to be on the same distance plane as the in focus center planet.. Despite the blurring it has. Actually, looking again, it might appear closer than the middle planet, but for some reason my first impression was that it was sposed to be further than the middle planet. Slightly confuddlin there.
Center-Left image, I like it, but I question if the back faces are perhaps a little over lit. Of course, I can't see what is behind the view of the image, but to me at least, assuming no nearby star or other major light source, especially the blue lower planet is too lit. Even the tannish/brown colour, I think at least, is a little more lit than city lights would account for.
The lowest pannel is great, but I must admit, I get absolutely no sense of depth from it at all.
I'm sorry that this comment came out so seemingly negative, because in actual fact, I really like the result regardless of anything I mentioned, it definitely gets from me, and would love to see more experimentation with FoV from ya, see if can really get that sense of depth going there, it'd be a first as far as I've seen.

Truly awsome work. The planets and the stars in space look so real. The textures are terrific, lovely tones in the lighting behind all the planets as well. Just beautiful.

Middle right one is my favorite. The idea behind that, as well as the deatil on it is amazing.
I was currious on these, do you plan *line-out* the light on these using 1,2 point perspective? Was just wondering since it has a good field of depth to it.

the compositions are mostly spontaneous. I do plan the theme and then i let it take form on its own.

Thats awsome, everything was done in photoshop. That just gos to show you, you don't need an expensive 3d program to make planets. I love the citiy lights on the planets, and i also like all the different colors you used! Great job on the sun!
