Description This is a picture that I took during my visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. I was attracted by the lines that the stairs offered, and while i was preparing the composition, the man started going up the stairs, just in time for me to compose him and press the shutter.

What's the message behind this? well, a message for this could be that you can never be too old to "step up" and keep improving. Proof of this is the people in their 60s who go to colleges, among other examples. If you think of another possible message for this picture, then you are more than welcome to share it.

I love shots like this, where you take something "ordinary" like a staircase, and shoot it in an odd angle to enhance the straight lines and hard angles. The eye follows the railing down to the old man walking up. The pointy and sharp edges are evened out by the soft round shape of the man

I love the feeling I get from it...The angle is beautiful and the texture/shade of the handrail against the stairs gives it a nice feeling...
The man and his position give the picture the real feeling though....

my favorites never show up, but +fav.

I guess the man brings a humble and simple element to archutectural precision, which balances things out in the shot

thank you for the feedback

i like the bold lines everywhere. the man is the icing on the cake. he breaks the simplicity of all the straight edges just enough so that it's perfect. great job. +fav

Great composing and depth of field. I like how the guy on the stairs is blurred just a little bit. Really great job on the left side stairs, you kept it interesting, but not distracting.

Very nice shot Diny. I like this angle and the way the stairs fade into black. Almost gives the appearance of them going on forever and ever. Lots of messages can be generated from a shot like this, but most people can at least find something personal to relate it to. I think that's what makes this shot what it is. Nicely done.

A good message. The angle is fine as well as having this in black and white, much more interest to it.

Though, I can Imagen some people getting mad having there picture taken with out them knowing.

Nice staircase, i have a similar shot
Staircases offer good lines and geometric shapes

I like the fact that the man popped into the picture without you expecting him and even though he did you didn't disgard the picture.

Love the depth of it...
People will complain to you that the person ruins it... but frankly I hate boring architecture shots... anyone can do that, but it takes somethin special to capture a person like that

Very well done my friend
