Description Render of the actual 747-412 involved as Singapore Airlines Flight 006 after it crashed into construction equipment during takeoff on a closed runway due to Pilot Error on October 31, 2000. The Flight was on it's way to LAX from Singapore Changi Airport before making a stopover to Chinag Kai-shek International Airport in Taoyun, Taiwan. The plane was assigned to Runway 05L for takeoff but the pilots mistakenly line up on Runway 05R which was closed for repairs.

As the plane started takeoff roll in the heavy rain, visibility was poor and the flight crew couldn't see the construction equipment. The plane hits two excavators, two vibrating rollers, one small bulldozer, and one air compressor. In addition, the runway contained concrete Jersey barriers and pits. 41 seconds later, the aircraft collided with the machinery and broke into three major pieces. The fuselage was torn in two, and the engines and landing gear separated. A crane tore the left wing from the aircraft, forcing the jet back onto the ground. The nose struck a scoop ladder, with a following large fire, destroying the forward section of the fuselage and the wings.

On board Flight 006 were 159 passengers and 20 crew members totally up to 179. 83 perished in the crash while 96 survived, including the pilots. As of result of the crash due to pilot error, both pilots lost their jobs.
