Description "Speedy thing goes in... speedy thing goes out"

Okay, that's a Portal quote on a Portal 2 picture, but it's what I kept repeating to myself as I played Portal 2, having to relearn to "think with portals". That and for some reason, I kept putting Orange portals on stuff first.

Anyway, this is Chell (obviously).

This was done in Daz Studio, rendered in Daz with 3Delight. I did some light postwork in Photoshop, using Designfera's Plasma Flame Brushes.
This is V4, with a custom morph for Chell, based on the model's actual photo. The mat for Chell is LRP Ballerain Del Fuego (beautiful character and mats), her eyes are Sage green by Sabby.

Her costume is as close as I could get with what I've got. I know she has the jumpsuit top tied around her waist, but I couldn't find a jumpsuit with that kind of option available.

The top is from Raiver for V4 with a custom mat based on Valve's art. The undershirt is Daz's V4 Basic Wear. The pants are from the Courageous for V4 set. The boots are from SciFi Heroine and are the closest thing I could find to the Long Fall Boots (of course, without the metal braces). The wrist wrap is EvilInnocence's V4 Wrist bandages.

All the mats are customized using shaders or color changes. The shaders I used were Calida's fantastic Menswear Shaders, Ultra Shiny and Omnifreaker's HSS.

The background is one of Valve's promotional wallpaper images.

The piece de resistance in this picture of course, is the amazing ASHPD "Portal Gun".

Without this fantastic prop, I couldn't have done this picture. This was made by 100SeedlessPenguins and I love it! Since I was using Daz, I couldn't get the great glows she has on her original figure, so I used the lightsaber beams from Ra's SciFi Lightsword package.

Anyway, hope you like this picture, I had fun making it!

Are you left handed?

that's probably why you use orange first.

I'm not left handed, but that makes sense. I just seem to tend towards using orange first, it's very weird.

Oh... and I guess I should compliment you on the art also!

Seriously, it's an awesome image for Chell. The energy and dynamism (if that's a work) really make it stand out.... even if it falls a bit into one of my pet peeves of Portal 2: [link]

Thanks!

I wish I could get more detailed, it's kind of difficult. I do see your point and totally understand where you're coming from, though (this kind of tends to happen with a lot of game characters).
The medium itself is kind of stylized, so the art tends to reflect what I have available to me as an artist, which is really limited. (and would make so much more sense if I went into excruciatingly boring detail on it...)

I played around with poses and camera angles and decided I really wanted to make it look like she was almost jumping out of the picture. That became the most fun in doing the picture, because the lights just bounced off the surfaces and turned it into a incredibly dynamic image. I also played with my shiny surfaces a lot.

Thanks! I'm really glad you like it, I wanted to make sure the picture showed the prop to its best advantage and have been wanting to do some Portal themed art for quite a while. Your model made it possible. It's very easy to pose and size and set up with shaders. And the low poly count on it made it render very quickly in Daz, which is always a plus!
