AKA In My Car... Version 2A different animation for an old emoticon, I tried reshading but I can't get the right shade of pink anymore (lame excuse I know) so I used the same dude, which was actually harder than simply copying it across but you don't care about that.
Unfortunately you don't get the feel for movement... it looks like he's going up and down not "scooching" the "car" along. I want to leave the background clear and I don't want him to leave the screen so I think I'm stuck, if you've got an idea shout it out.
I'm hoping the timing's right, dA's showing it going differently to how it goes in my program.

Awesome idea!
A thought I had about the scootching was have the box actually scoot from center, and then move the view point so that the action is re-centered, and repeat. Then it might look more like the view point was following the action. It's something you'd have to play with, but who knows...it might work.
Good luck on finding a solution. I can't wait to see it.

I see what you mean about the scootching being hard to perceive. I have no idea what you could do to make it more clear.
Incidentally, the first version remains to this day one of the most beloved emotes on FF.

The scootching thing is annoying and I might just through in a background element just to make it clear to people at a glance (a lamp comes to mind for some reason). I just had to make this cos I always feel I cheated the original when it came to it's movement

A lamp would be a great solution! That was it'll still be mainly transparent but you'll have the reference point for the movement.
