Blonde hair is notoriously difficult to
paint.
I'm still trying to work out how to do it so it looks right. At the moment I paint it by using one of the flesh tones that I've used for the face, and just making it a bit cooler by adding a touch of blue. I then paint that on as the bulk of the hair.
Then I darken it with brown and blue to get a grey/brown shade for the shadows, or lighten it with white and yellow and a hint of blue to get a cool light shade for the highlights.
I really should look it up on the internet though and see the best way to do it. I'm probably missing ideas that would be more effective.

With watercolor you can't "lighten" which makes it hard, you have to leave the white and slowly make things darker. Is that the opposite with acrylic?

Yeah, now that's why I can't use watercolour, because you have to do so much planning in advance as to where your lights are going to be.
You need to do a little bit of that with acrylics and certain colours... But yeah, on the whole you can lay light onto dark if you want to.
I do admire you using watercolours so well, I think that is SO HARD.
Do you use masking fluid? I tried that a couple of times when I tried to do watercolours and it seemed quite good stuff. (My watercolours still came out crap, but I did like the fluid.

The only thing I would say is to add more blonde strokes near the bottom of the hair, just so that there isn't as much contrast between the blonde and the brown.

Wow his expresion is sooooo good. He looks so thoughtful and kinda sad too like he's reflecting on something, which isn't often portrayed in fanart. I like how even though it's fanart your art is always still original and portrayes so many scenes that I want to see but aren't often thought about eg Hunith/young merlin. And your use of material is flawless,seriously if I had half your skill with watercolour I'd be happy
