Description
ErisA character inspired by the games Kinetica and Metroid, and any other games with girls in robots.
Her robot suit is supposed to be translucent in areas so you can see her through it....
The suit was drawn in Macromedia Fireworks, and everything else was painted freehand in Photoshop with a wacom tablet. Not really my favorite piece, but it was definitely a learning experience.

Eris is the name of a greek goddess of strife and discord. There is also a Samus version of this piece in my gallery, which was made after the fact.

This is beautiful...I can see where the metroid style came from but I can't see the Kinetica. O_o unless it's a completely different Kinetica we're talking about.......But anyways. 100000000 out of 10. XD

Dammit I'm so annoyed. I really really like this picture except for one tiny thing. Its the shoes. Thats personal choice of course so don't worry but it just.. I like it but it annoys me.

I like the idea of women in robot suits. Interesting though, a twist for this one.
In metroid I didn't know she was a woman. actually I have only played smash brothers and they never mention it. So when someone told me she was a chick I thought that was cool. Unexpected.
Given my feminist leanings I think it is interesting.
And then in this case, she is revealed as such. Does metroid mask the fact that she is a woman on purpose?
Does she have a name?
And, one more question, does this Eris have anything to do with the golden apple and discord and all that?

At first I just liked the name 'Eris.' It seemed to fit the trend of cyborg/robot girls - Samus, Kos-mos, etc. But yes, I though the touble-making characteristics of the goddess fit the image well, and that's how I decided on Eris.
Congrats for being the first one to point that out.
As for Metroid, all I really know is that she takes off her helmet at the end of the first game, and that's when you find out she's a girl. Not sure what the motivation behind it was, but probably to get more teenage boys to buy subsequent games.

Hey there, followed you from the forum. This may not be your favorite piece but it's going into my favs... I'm a fan of metroid, 3d, and chicks...now only if it had a keg for a backpack. I love how the smoothness of the suit accents the smoothness of the female form. Also, the color resembles a nice clean skin tone.

Wow, that's beautiful! I really admire the way you fused styles, the realistic digital painting and the wireframe 'cyber style' armour, since they work together so well. Love the sunken bevelled barrel on the gun.
Haha, very 'cut away diagram' feel to it, and it's interesting to see so clearly how she does actually fit (especially considering the tight proportions those female armour suits always seem to work to - could be a bit embarrassing if any of them slacked off their training regime over winter or something)
