Description
A series of unusual pranks coincide around Orlando when Chris kicks the football at the wrong goal post, Msalliecat's father horseplays around her home, and Tyler's normally docile Chihuahua harasses a police officer. All these actions are played off a mischievous polymorphic creature named Ditto. Another one strikes when a black cat gets in the path of a school bus filled with young children, curving off the road and falling off a cliff into the ocean until Mei Lee swoops in to save their lives, with both the bus driver and children grateful to be rescued by such a famous figure.

From afar, the black cat watches and notices all the attention Mei is getting. Morphing himself back into his true form, Ditto then turns into Mei Lee Panda herself to get her own share in the spotlight.

Ming and Jin back at their lab are displeased with Mei's actions of heroism, stating she is still a panda with a trick up her sleeve, despite Ying constantly arguing her good name. Afterwards, the folks display their latest invention designed to stop any creatures from using their powers.

Mei heads off to school later, tired of all the attention from both the citizens of Orlando and her parents. She turns panda and flies off to school. Ditto, seeing Mei from afar and assuming she also has a morphing ability, is infuriated by the idea that he is "stealing his thunder." Thus, he turns into Mei Lee to take his glory.

Mei Lee, in the meantime, handles the pressure of news media and crowds of people who admire her, eventually using her invisibility to hide and turning back to her human self. Back at the Lee Works from being chased around constantly, Mei spots a duplicate look-alike of herself entering her home. Inside, Ditto destroys Ying's scrapbook leading her to wonder what is wrong with her until the real Mei appears and tackles him down. Ying activates the house's magic defense system, cluing Ming and Jin to enter and defeat Mei Lee Panda who they assume is out to hurt their daughter. Ditto plays along by pretending to state the same.

Mei barely survives the attacks of her parents if not for Ying's interference. Afterwards, she smacks Ditto down to the lab where they battle and accidentally activate Ming's new invention, causing Mei to remain in her panda form as she cannot transform back. Ditto is nowhere to be seen, having mysteriously vanished.

Ambushed further by her parents, Mei discovers not only can she cannot transform, but she cannot phase either. She flies away to safety to Leo's house and explains her dire situation to her friends.

The parents then break into Leo's room by smashing through his wall and ask for their daughter; they quickly lie and state she was "running down the street" from Mei Lee Panda. After the folks leave, Mei comes out of hiding and cries out she must find Ditto.

Ditto himself is trying in vain to resort to his original form, but cannot. The parents announce to the public that Mei Lee is missing, and for everyone to look for her. Wanting some privacy until he can figure out this mess, Ditto spots Twilight Sparkle and her constant rejection from her students and thus becomes Twilight herself and heads for the school science lab to get to the bottom of this fiasco.

In the meantime, Leo and Msalliecat evade the real Mei off her back by getting Msalliecat to dress as Mei and proclaiming to the parents she has "no face", crying out that the creature ripped it off.

She runs off the worried Lee folks in pursuit while Mei heads off to find Ditto, the latter suffering a frustrating fate as Twilight as the students of Sunny Side High make it their absolute pleasure to torture their teacher.

Ditto eventually bumps into the real Twilight who faints upon seeing her own duplicate. Mei comes in afterwards, but cannot figure out which one is the real deal and doesn't get the time to when the students madly chase after their favorite hero.

Mei eventually meets with Ditto who proclaims himself the creature who can morph. Figuring out he's the one Mei's been after the two leave Sunny Side High, evading the parents upon Leo's warning, Ditto using invisibility to fly them away to the Lee Works, leaving the folks to assume a creature overtook Twilight.

On the way to Mei's house, Ditto expresses sadness and guilt for getting far more attention than he bargained for due to his faceless physique when all he wanted was some attention and fun while Mei laments the desire for less of that.

The two, now at the Lee Works, are again busted by the folks so the two quickly fabricate a lie stating Twilight managed to defeat Mei Lee Panda and is about to destroy her in their lab. The two stage a battle, activating the machine that threw them into this mess in the first place.

By the time the smoke clears, Mei and Ditto head to the kitchen and turn back into their true forms. He apologizes for his actions and Mei, getting him off the hook, just states that as long he leaves town he won't bother her. He agrees, then again morphs into Mei Lee Panda before leaving, stating how will Mei know if he ever walks back into town.

The parents afterwards embrace Mei, happy she is alive and well, then ask where the Mei Lee Panda went. She again lies, stating she scared her off mentioning the parents and their fearsome track record of creature hunting.

Twilight Sparkle meanwhile wakes up in the mens' restroom, much to the displeasure of several men already inside as Ditto watches and chuckles from afar.
