Rocket and Big Jet are watching a funny video about a famous prank caller named Prank on YouTube when they decide to pick up the phone and become prank callers themselves. They attempt to prank Prank himself, but Ember Lumen, who was the victim was Rocket and Big Jet's prank call prank, furiously storms in and confiscate their phone. They instantly decide to use Calina's phone. They find her ironing a shirt. She allows them to use her mother's old 80s phones but warns them of the possibilities of brain tumors.

Rocket and Big Jet each wrap tinfoil around their heads and call Prank. Rocket goes first to prank, joking that he had 50 pizzas that Prank "ordered," but it turns out that he had ordered 50 pizzas along with hot wings that he needed to be brought over. He quickly hangs up, and Big Jet goes next. He passes himself off under the pseudonym of "Stan," but ends up adding "Stanley" when he's asked for a surname. Prank warns them to stop calling him, or they would pay. They still attempt to prank him but to no success. They finally get a call from Prank, who tells them that he had warned the two, and says, "The 1980's called. They want their cell phones back!" to which they are sucked into the phone and transported back to the '80s.

When they spit out of the phone, they think they are back at Disneyland. Rocket asks a nearby Calina to "tell Big Jet everything's fine," to which she turns revealing her younger face. They then discover that they are in the '80s. They are surprised at Calina's difference and her not knowing of them, and find a couple of boys dancing. Big Jet tries asking them if they noticed anything strange, only for them to get them to leave. It is then Big Jet finds out they are in the 80s. They try to call Prank and apparently send him to the 60s. However, Prank escapes out of the phone and begins dialing on his phone. They escape, with Prank hot on their track. They are called again by Prank, who says that the 80s still wanted their phones back, to which they dressed instantly in 80s-apparel to their grave horror. They get a second call to which Big Jet begs him to leave them alone, only to get dressed in heavier apparel along with Rocket, who desperately tells Big Jet to call someone who turns out to be Calina, Rainbow Sparkle and Ember Lumen in the present time. Big Jet explains the situation to her, who passes it onto Ember, who hears about the problem. She thinks it's a prank, and from this, Big Jet uses Prank's prank on him on Ember, and all three are transported to the 80's and reappear. As they are running, Rocket accidentally hits a younger Calina. Prank appears right by the five. Rainbow Sparkle instructs Rocket to keep running, as she leaps onto Prank's car, and later on claims its utter destruction. Prank breaks out still, as the five run directly into an electronics store. Rocket hatches a plan using a tape recorder...

Everyone runs back and hides in the bushes as Prank calls. Rocket's recording plays, keeping on saying things like, "Hello?" as if no one was there. This angers Prank, who reappears and finds out he was pranked. While he yells out, everyone ambushed him. Despite his struggles, Prank cannot break free. Rocket finally instructs Big Jet to hit him on the noggin. Big Jet scurries up to Prank and gives him a good blow on the head. Moments after they celebrate their title, a bright light protrudes from Prank, which Rocket claims is the way out.

The five find themselves in a long hallway full of doors leading to serval years. After a while of searching, Ember finally finds the door leading to the present time. Prank gets their attention. He pleads for the duo to take him with them, which they do.

In the end, all three prank Ember Lumen, transporting the chair she was sitting on back to the 70s.
