this is one of my favorite pieces of art full stop. i especially like how you have managed to capture the strong yet timid aspect of this "gentle giant" as it seem as though they have the capacity to crush the observer, but would never even consider the prospect. my only criticism is that it appears less fleshed out than some of your other work. but it is barely noticeable. you have real talent sir.

There are good things to be said about both versions. Yes, we can see your improvement, but you brought across the 'shy' emotion with each 'monster' terrifically. I truly enjoy both versions equally. It's not every day that we get to see a shy monster in the middle of the forest.
