Description
A macaw on a macaw feather. I know, realllll original, Dittin.Buuuuut, this is my first painting on one of these awesome brightly colored feathers and it seemed fitting. Right? lol. Hope you like it!

how do the feathers not split??

I don't spray them with anything before I start though sometimes I do finish them with a light acrylic spray. Painting on feathers, in the way I do the paintings, is something that takes a light touch and a good amount of patience!

No, no...not really...at all...my hearing has actually returned to normal levels according to the hearing test I had in March. Given that TWO tests said I was partially deaf thus alienating the possibility of the test being incorrect somehow, I stand by my position that it was the parrot's fault.

lol. I heard though that once you kill your hearing, it can't return. Something about the little hairs inside your ears that detect vibrations. I can't remember what they're called right now though...

That's natural hearing loss. Mine was apparently more along the lines of being temporarily deafened by a huge, loud noise.

Thanks, Shinyfeather! My favorite part is the texture on his head too. It came out looking much more like feathers than I hoped it would! The key is tiny brush strokes and subtle color changes!

Gorgeous! Being the parrot fanatic I am, I absolutely adore this. haha. You got all the proportions correct even from the way that the mouth stretches past the beak. Amazing job!

My uncle's friends has a macaw, they're such cool birds!
