I almost scrapped her design altogether cuz her pose wasn't coming out right, but in the end I stuck with it and for that, I'm glad.

A product of two great strategists, like the title suggests, this girl is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Who is she, you ask?
Fuu, the daughter of Nara Shikamaru and Sabaku no Temari.
Fuu is a rather straightforward and pragmatic girl (given her parentage, it comes as no surprise). She doesn't take crap from anyone and isn't above taking you down a few pegs when you get out of line. However, while she's as brilliant as her father, she's driven like her mother and can sometimes come off as... well... a bitch. However, she means well, and to her family and those she considers her friends, she's loyal to the end.

Honestly, that's your decision, I'm just saying there is such a thing as taking legacy too far.
Personalized weapons seem to be a trademark of experienced Sand Ninja, while the Leaf Village believes in Standardized weapons.
Her mother's side believes in distance fighting (puppets, animated sand, wind gales), and the design of her outfit suggests she was given training as a Sand Ninja rather than a leaf ninja. So she'd likely pick a distance weapon.
I simply felt with the mind set she's likely been given by her up bringing, she is NOT the type who'd chose to specialize in the same weapon as her mother out of parental admiration.
While she'd pick a distance weapon, the chances of it being the same one her mother specializes in are no greater or less because it's the one her mother specializes in.

I can see her being good friends with the Uzumaki children. If the Uzumaki kids has wind element chakra like their dad, I can see the Nara's can help them out with teaching wind jutsus.
