At first I didn't want to do this one because, quite simply, the mere thought of such a thing occuring in the Narutoverse frightened me very much.

Nonetheless, I buckled down and made it happen, and overall I gotta say... I think it turned out very well.

Boys and girls and ninken and Narutards everywhere, I introduce to you...

Maito Rei, daughter of :shudders: Maito Gai and Mitarashi Anko!

Wow, I can't believe I actually pulled this off... I mean, she almost looks human... sorta...

In any case, Maito Rei is quite an interesting kunoichi. Granted, that goes without saying given who her parents are, but somehow she manages to inspire a strange mix of fear and admiration wherever she goes. Fortunately she's not quite as... insane.. as her parents are, though she does come fairly close. She laughs in the face of danger, possesses a bizarre work ethic and training regimen, as well as an unhealthy love of the color green.

Despite being 15 and on the same team as the adorable but romantically-clueless Jiro, Rei really has no desire to attach herself to him (much to dad's chagrin) or anyone else. Part of that might be due to the trauma any potential suitor is sure to face once met with her parents, but as a new chuunin, Rei has more fun torturing...er... training with Academy students as a Taijutsu instructor (i.e. bludgeoning them with her bo staff ).
