I know you can turn off the whole thing where your mom holds money for you, but I always expect she will send me something awesome.... needless to say, I am normally disappointed

This is one of the mechanics i wish was in furtire games saving like you're out of money you have right now you could always go back to your mom to withdraw more and if they bring that mechanic back should not put that whole spending your money on berries and crap like that seriously that was the only downside to that mechanic

Y'know, I loved this feature in the G/S/C days. (My fav generation, no lie.) Mom holding onto your money meant that you always had some stashed away in case you fainted or needed to spend a lot at the Poke Mart.
The best part was that once you saved enough, she started buying you AWESOME stuff for your room: better & fancier beds, Poke Dolls... The most epic thing was a giant Snorlax doll as big as your bed!
Imagine my "WTH" face when I found out that in HG/SS, all she ever did was send you Berries and other junk. Why did they change this?! Everyone expected something awesome, and they ruined a great feature unique to 2nd Gen. I continue to sometimes wish that every Gen after G/S/C had continued with the money-saving feature....

Normally I'm like "STOP SPENDING MY DAMN MONEY!!"
But then she sent a bunch of awesome stuff I hadn't gotten yet, and if it weren't for her I wouldn't have gotten that first Lum and Leppa berrys that I grew into like 99 of each.
But Anyways, this comic is great, I love Gold/Ethen/Hibiki's expression in the last panel.

Not like in the original Gold/Silver where she may send you a cool item for your room to decorate.

She eventually sends you a choice scarf, which actually helped me defeat Lance the first time. (A Mamoswine with a choice scarf is dangerous to dragons)
But everything else is meh.
