A speed painting like this one with such a dramatic take on landscape and the surroundings could be quie the contender in this [link] competition we're running.
Granted, there is a need for some character composition as well, but capturing the mood of the setting is probably the most important.
And wow can you do that!

I am SO not trying to be a jerk - because there is some incredible detail in the volcano and cloudwork - but it looks like the treebark was the part you skimped out on... I know, right? I am a picky bastard... But that was the first thing I noticed - with so much amazing detail in the rest of it, I thought it was possible that this was a copied physical painting that was retouched.
HOWEVER, nice work.

I feel as if the man in the picture is holding in his emotions, but the volcano in the background is exploding all of the built up rage for him. I find this deeply symbolic. A nice wide range of emotion and detail.
