Hmm.. I really like the lines and the colour tones.. though I think just a little too much detail has been lost in the blacks, and I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like with a little bit of that detail pulled back.

It is a deliberate choice to have a strong contrast and loose some details. The wide angle has a very large depth of field, and give some uninteresting details on the right side and at the bottom. For a prepared photo, I could have removed what was there, but it was a spontaneous image.

Ahh yes, I agree losing some of the details around the bed was a good idea and that certainly makes the photo more attractive.. I should have been clearer, as the loss of detail I had in mind was just the detail on your son's body - parts of him just look a little bit shapeless and undefined.
