HABITAT RANGE

With the amount of odd sightings despite its rarity, the Questing Beast has been encountered by people in many environments of the world. From blazing hot volcanic zones of Hawaii, the frozen wastelands of the Serbian tundra to the most barren & radioactive regions of neo Korea the Questing beast has ventured through showing it to be an extremophillic Behemoth. The QB has also been inside the confines of human settlements without people even noticing apparently, journeying its way in through the towns like a ghost.

ECOLOGICAL NICHE

Due to the lack of substantial data it is currently unknown to how the Questing Beast fits into the ecological niche. However we can only speculate to how the Beast lived & survived looking into its relationship with humans. Like Dragons the Questing Beast shares a bygone history that links its relation with Paladins & Magicians, dating back as far as the medieval ages where the first founders had been made.
Under the rule of Britannia decree, the Questing Beast became part of a final test into becoming a Paladin knight where a knight would’ve partook in a noble quest to slaying this fabled beast known as the Impossible. Though many knight attempted to hunt the beast none had prevailed. That is until the 5th to 6th century when a young lad made the first historical event of slaying the beast, his name was Pellinore. Pellinore was then knighted for the first of many to completing the Impossible in which gave rise to the Arthurian legacy in which ties in with the legend of Arthur & his knights of the Round table.

From the start the Arthurian timeline towards the fall of the 21st century the Questing has been seen as a mythical beast & was said to be a Behemoth created from alchemy as a means to give rise to Britain’s kinghood through its earliest & crude means. According to a journal of Alchemy from an unknown author the creation of the beast was said to be born from the first surrogate guinea pig, an unknown Jane doe whom had sought out refuge to the Alchemists of the Yorkshire where she was to be trialed & executed for an incestuous relationship with her own brother. She pleaded to the alchemists abort the babe in her womb but instead they performed alchemical experimentations on the unborn foetus in an attempt to splice human DNA with behemoths. After months of torture the first Questing Beast was then born, bursting from the womb in the most grizzly manner killing its mother in the process.
Whilst many pages of this journal were hard to read or missing they paint a vivid picture what the beast was let alone came to be in our world.

BIOLOGICAL ADAPTATIONS

The Questing Beast is renowned to be the fastest behemoth on neo Earth. Despite its reptilian physiology the QBs anatomy shares a similar contrast morphology to that of big cats, this in particular towards Cheetahs. Unlike most Dracoform Behemoths the Questing beast has a light streamlined body structure in which enables it to perform short explosive bursts of speed, rapid acceleration & the execution of sudden changes in manoeuvrability at high speed. Additionally the Questing Beast also possesses an enlarged heart & lungs in order to enrich a colossal amount of blood with oxygen, which in turn allows it to regain stamina after running. Cryptozoologists of the Bloomers Lobby Academy clocked the QBs speed at 98 miles an hour, 158 km/h. In order to achieve this the heart of the Beast would work into overdrive, taking 65 to 175 breaths per minute. Moreover the blood of the Beast reduces greatly in viscosity allowing more blood to flow, easing oxygen transport.

The Questing Beast is a Cryptofauna of psionic origin, level 5. Cryptozoologists of black clearance had discovered an insight to its psychokinetic nature where they have theoretically proclaimed that the Beast is capable of temporal duplication. Upon reaching its top speed of 142 km/h the QB would split itself into seperate versions of itself through psionic means in order to achieve complicated situations that would require multiple parties as well as contingencies.
Take example that a QB would encounter a troop of armed Paladin soldiers. In response to this encounter the QB would either survey, attack or run from the troopers as a normal animal would have to scrutinise before action. HOWEVER, if the QB was maintaining this light speed pace on the get-go the Behemoth in theory would’ve achieved all three responses at the same time without any visual repercussions.
Outlandish, yes, but this discovery became evident had it been written in documented encounters with Paladins of the 5th century through tapestries & journals, small passages in the Tapsters grimoire & even encounters by hunters nowadays who claim to have seen this mythical behemoth.

A passage within the Tapster’s Grimoire suggests that only one Questing beast exists in our reality. This is indeed true in relation to its origin described thousands of years ago in the Paladin tapestries during the reign of Arthur. An outrageous but not entirely farfetched theory states that the Questing Beasts psionic ability enables it to transfer its consciousness & memories into the eggs of an oviparous or viviparous surrogate upon its own death. This form of reproduction is known to be as brooding parasitism where the Questing Beast will invade & compromise the unwilling embryonic donor, restructuring its genetic structure while the brooding parent will unknowingly care & nurture it until the beast hatches. A viviparous surrogate however will destroy the original embryo & the maternal donor upon the end of its gestation period in the most gruesome way one can ever possibly imagine.

The fangs of the Questing Beast is viperine in morphology as well as retractable like that of fish of the Lophiidae family. These fangs are used to deliver venom unique to QB itself. The venom is necrotic in nature in which causes mechanical trauma to the body in which leads to damaging of blood vessels, cell disintegration & ischemia. The venom of the QB is incredibly fatal & is put to work instantaneously, not to mention the existence of the antivenin makes this a tragic death march. Survivors of the venom would have made a difficult a difficult decision to amputate & cauterise the destroyed region.

BEHAVIOUR

The nature of the Questing Beast is by far unpredictable. Whilst some documented encounters show that the beast is calm & shy preferring to run but other rare stories state that the Behemoth is a violent creature known to singlehandedly slaughter anything in its path in seconds. Other specifications state that since the QB is an intelligent creature it is a calculating & meticulous being towards anything that resembles a human, showing that its drive is motivated solely by circumstantial precedence. What or who that may be remains a mystery.
