Oh man, you've totally changed my view on things. Critique is how one betters themselves? Man it's amazing I can still draw at all anymore. And looking back it's obvious I haven't improved one single bit, must be all that good critique I'm missing out on. Specially on pictures almost 3 years old now, and in an art style I don't even do anymore. You know what, I am RIDICULOUS. You're right, I shouldn't share any of my art online if I don't wanna hear every 14 year old schmucks critiques on my work. It's not like I could go an ask an artist who's skill and abilities I actually respect for their thoughts on my work or advise. I mean, why go out of my way to get the opinion and skilled eye of someone who is well founded, when I can get EVERYONE'S 2 cents worth. I'm just gunna take all the drawings I do from now on and let them sit on my hard drive.

Obvious there are idiotic kids who don't know what they are talking about that are always ready to tell you what's wrong with your art. But seriously I still think it's silly to say don't critique me. I would turn off comments all together rather than say that. Don't you think that makes people want to critique you even more? Besides, you are obviously a well-practiced artist and would most likely only receive good comments, so there is no need to say it. It just sounds pretentious. Like, "I already know I'm good, so anything you have to say about my art is irrelevant, so don't say it please." Geez.

Telling me "you are obviously awell-practiced artist and would most likely only receive good comments" is just as terrible an argument as someone just wanting to plug their ears and go "la la la, I can't hear your critique." And also proves just how useless critique on DA is to me.

I'm not saying don't give me critique because I don't WANT to hear it, I'm saying it cause I don't care. I'm saving you the time typing it, I only care about artists I feel confident in their abilities and skills as an artist, and actually understand the art form I am going for.

Also, you have to keep things in context, I wrote that 2 years ago, after staying up for 3 days straight working on this. I was tired, and the last thing I wanted was a 12 year old with a gallery full of bases and sonic fanart to tell me "Oh that part looks sloppy" in a completely unthought-out, unenlightened, unhelpful manner. I can remove the "Don't give me critique" part, it doesn't matter to me, but it won't change the fact that I won't give a shit about the critique people will leave and I'm just saving them time. Even if they do give helpful and enlightening critique, I'm not going to go back and fix a 2 year old peice, and I'm not currently going down the hyper-realistic portrait art path anymore, so it's a waste of time for both parties.

I don't give a shit, and you've already painted me as some pompous windbag. Because you obviously couldn't read "((No Critique please!!! Thank you!!!))" as ((No Critique please!!! Thank you!!!))
You read it as, and I quote;
"I already know I'm good, so anything you have to say about my art is irrelevant, so don't say it please."

You obviously don't know me well enough to understand where I'm coming from, since you took a simple statment I made and morphed it into that ^ which shows I obviously don't know you well enough to respect your opinion. I was just trying to save time, and yet you still went out of your way to tell me your opinion on Critique. I would say "I'm sorry, I just don't give a shit." But I'm NOT sorry, I just don't give a shit.
