(( 1) This is Loki's good arc, so he's allowed friends. Meet fellow magic nerd, make friends, it's not that hard, come on. Also this is how subversion of expectations works: Stephen had expectations about Loki (as a "threat to the world" and all that xD) and it's way more fun to take the time to subvert them than just not having the both of them interact at all)

Also 2) one does not simply tease characters meeting for so long and then rush through that scene as fast as possible and not have them interact like at all (one of the major flaws of the movie was the lack of interaction between almost any characters except for them interacting with Thor) (this is also AGAIN related to the whole trailer lies bs (more about that later on))

3) The audience isn't stupid, they'll get it you don't need to over-explain everything:

How did they get there? who cares, they did, that's all that counts.

We already know who Doc is (and if we didn't why put him in there in the first place (oh right cause according to you Loki isn't a witch, and all that asgardian tech wouldn't be able to track the all-father, with all his Odin-force, you're trying to tell me that they wouldn't have a way, magical or technological, to find their relative and king on the planet where it took Tony like -what?- an hour? to find Loki via facial recognition, where the sorcerers can use a spell to track anyone they have even a blip of DNA from in less than a minute? You're gonna tell me that aesir tech wouldn't be able to measure up to that without Heimdall? Oh yeah also if the bifrost can be contacted without Heimdall there, and it can lock onto Thor who was gone for two years without an issue, then you can't find Odin? You're telling me whatever chip Thor has implanted to be tracked Odin doesn't? Really? wow))
we don't need you to explain to us that he's a sorcerer, he's wearing a fucking cape and in his and Thor's little talk he uses his powers, what more do you need?

How he trapped Loki? We don't care, he did is all that counts, what he did to trap him? Well he put him into an eternal fall, you don't need the start of it to get that, most of all if you have Loki state the now obvious that he was "falling for thirty minutes" as soon as he gets released.

If you wanna explain something explain how that put him out for thirty minutes without him finding a way out of it (oh right, not a witch, I almost forgot about that again, still a teleporter tho, if you're taking out the fantasy elements then at least work with star trek rules and explain why tech doesn't work, Loki is still a teleporter, threatening to drive a hammer through his head wouldn't work as he can turn into a hologram, putting him anywhere without binding his hands wouldn't keep him from teleporting, UNLESS you go by star trek rules (before they had the tech to beam during warp), if it's moving you can't beam it, which would make sense considering Loki always freezes when he teleports, we haven't seen him do so while moving, leading me to believe that if he's in motion he can't teleport, meaning putting him into an eternal fall would keep him from teleporting)

So instead use all that extra run time for actual interaction please rather than setting up that they're at Doc's now for so long and then cutting it off as soon as you're done setting it up
(again, more on this later)

4) Thor, whenever he takes Loki anywhere (post-New York incident), takes precautions in order to keep him somewhat under control (like the handcuffs in TTDW), so even if Loki would be the most qualified for a job, he won't let him do it if that's at all possible (whether that is not letting him fly the plane or not letting him track Odin himself in this case (there, reason to have Doc in there even if you don't know who he is))
