I am hounded by the persistent suspicion that I have seen something like this before. Once lodged in my memory it has lurked about in the recesses until I poured it forth. If anyone can figure out what the hell I've half remembered, any suggestions are welcome.

Based the face on my own so I suppose its a bit of a self portrait. Bloody hell, I must've been a more irritable lately than I thought!

Knowing my habit of being a fiddler with my artwork, I wholeheartedly expect, as a dog returneth to it's vomit so I shall return to meddle further with this one. It just begs for more filaments and nasty stringy bits.

EDIT: And lo... Fiddling hath occurrethed...
Added more detail and adjusted the lighting and colour more to my liking.

Ooooh, this is a dangerous piece of work!
Visually, it's like Mushroomhead meets a personification of hate.
I wonder too what was lodged in your memory to inspire this beautifully disturbing piece of work.

I had a dream last night of a demon named Fugue. He crept along the rooftops of houses and sucked dreams from the heads of those under the roof. If he was really hungry he would suck up their memories as well. This is very nearly exactly what he looked like in the face. Amazing work!
