wasnt sure where the reference that inspired this was from but just looked into it and yes, i think he was a civil war prisoner.
it was the contrasts on the face that drew my attention.
In the end he ended up looking rather more like Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones

Disgusting! Nice work, Dave, you really nailed the wet translucence. What makes this one a bit different in context with your other work is that it seems to take place in an unclosed space, whereas they more often take place in a vast and open one. I think it may add to the creepy factor, as the viewer has less room to escape.
