Its AMAZING!
As soon as it was the first day of spring my husband was like "soooo you're making a strawberry shortcake right??"  
my preference is usually for pie over cake, but this recipe is exceptional! I make an angel food type cake so its very light and fluffy, and as a rule, I ALWAYS make my own whipped cream from scratch! People love this cake because its 100% homemade with natural ingredients, so there is nothing artificial tasting!

I make an awesome angel food dessert.  It's a parfait.  But I make it different every time.  Sometimes, it's with fruit and made to be healthy.  Others, I use about five pounds of varying candies and chocolate.  Mmmmm.  It disappears either way. 

I get the same comment as soon as the weather breaks and the fruits are fresh.  "You could make that dessert this weekend, ya know."  And I do.

And that's what I'm talking about.  I'm all about the homemade stuffs.  It's how I prefer to make everything.  Sometimes time doesn't allow for it, though.  I hit the local market and farms to get my ingredients.  Much better than using the grocers who bring it all in from far away.

i live near an orchard and i love shopping there in the fall! I love picking apples and berries for my homemade pies!

my nephews went crazy for it! They were covered from head to toe in whipped cream! We had to bring the 1 year old upstairs and give him a bath!
