Description
So, I picked Charmander for my first ever Pokemon Red playthrough when I was a kid. I didn't quite understand the concept of a balanced team at the time, and so found the first few gyms to be quite hard - Misty in particular handed me several defeats. After bludgeoning through with my Charmander, I was worried about what the fourth gym might bring. Then I actually got there - and the game had never felt easier.Β
Still, she is one of my favourite gym leaders to date, and it was nice to finally draw her. Thanks to everyone who offered Poke-girl suggestions!

Thanks! That's a pretty cool point actually. I recall ice type moves being pretty good for that game - obviously it'd be good for Lance, too. Back then I wouldn't have thought of that kind of thing, though!
Funny story about my first starter, too - I actually got Red because Yellow was coming out, and I mistakenly thought you could only have the starter that was on the box as a result. Charmander was my favourite pokemon, so naturally I had to get Red. Silly me.

Exellent dude, to be honest I don't like to talk about this kind of stuff but as kid my family was really poor, so i had to borrow the videogames of friend ad i had to thing in the perfect pokemon i was going to use for the whole journey so that i use the less time posible i remeber including in my team Blastoise Raichu and Nidoking Β

When you pick Charmander, the fourth Celadon Gym is truly the easiest part of the original games.Β Erika is also one of my favorite Gym Leaders.Β Definite top 5 when considering all Regions.
