The environment look pretty well shaded in this picture. You did a good job shading the marble.

Thanks. I wanted to do it it the Sargent way, so I basically rush and splattered it on.

Just Google'd the original inspiration, and man, pretty great resemblance to the original! I like this homage series of sorts. You learn some interesting things in the process, and still get to do some awesome fan art out of the whole experience. Interesting details here, like in his getup and the marble columns behind him. You also nailed down the original pose quite well too. And man, I'd say, you're excellent when it comes to capturing just the right type and right amount of lighting to use in a traditional painting like this. Honestly impressed with your efforts lately.

Thanks a lot Bowser.
I've really been keen on this recent line lately. The problem however is always trying to figure out a new piece afterwards. It's hard to choose another classical portrait, and who should be spoofed in it.
However, I think for the most part I have King Dedede and Lady Palutena lined up.

No problem!
It certainly is a challenge...but that's probably one of the most thought-provoking aspects of the process because you really try and find the most comparable subject possible that best fits what the inspiration is about.
Needless to say I'd certainly enjoy seeing some variety in this series aside from FE, so that'd be interesting to look forward to.
