Description life on mars

this is all about nothing
and everything,
someone said

taking a long ride
on my seat of Naugahyde

consider a raven landing in a bird bath
in the sun splashed remains
of a gilded cage in Detroit

It's a breakthrough....finally!!!
that someone said

listening to rank and file,
washing dishes
and thinking about life on mars

in the arena of the sky,
all that were present
beheld in quiet shocked disbelief
as the plane arced and flattened out,
ending up in a perfect splash down into the Hudson river

well this is North beach where the whole Beat scene started on the west coast
so the older Beats from the mid 1950 stayed Beat, guess yes some were the first Beatniks but the younger Beats by say 1964 1965 got psychedelicized and i guess could say they became the first wave of true hippies which beget Punk which beget the ever circling repeat of the whole scene till now you can buy your hippie/punk stuff at a Gap clothing store and be Hippie Punk Skater or whatever one wants to be temporarily until you get bored.
The end came, just no one really saw it. Now it is all fashion and fakery, well except some I have seen in Europe, who in way take it seriously and live the life for real.
But what it all means is anyones guess now.
The cosmic loop waits for the swirl to continue.

The hippie/punk stuffs are not the same now...all is different...young people are different, mentalities are different...the world is different
I was a teenager in the Punk Period listening The Sex Pistols...The Clash.... during hours and hours (my poor parents..)
I miss that time ...I think it was less pretentious, less tortuous ....we were more free to make what we wanted to do, what we wanted to say....

But it's just my opinion....

and more a fashion deal

funny about 2-3 years ago i saw Johnny Rotten in a
Staples, that's a office supply store in Venice down in LA.
I asked him how it was going, a nice guy, but was surprising to find him looking for file folders.
We had a short chat then my dad interrupted us as he wanted to get the hell out of the store. Rotten smiled.

Next time you see him...don't forget to say "hello from Françoise" (not Hardy).

I can imagine the scene with your dad

yes the book was one of those things that had to be done
love that oat of the country
(in my opinion) NYC, here in San Francisco and New Orleans
are the three cities worth the American daydream

Agree with your opinion
I will begin with NYC
since a long time ago I dream of that

DocSonian In reply to franzoise [2009-08-01 02:08:41 +0000 UTC]

NYC....NO...SF
but don't let the dream become a fantasy and never do it.
Isn't the Euro kicking Yankee dollar's ass?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

franzoise In reply to DocSonian [2009-08-01 17:12:36 +0000 UTC]

I know that...

I'll go there probably next year...
You see that it could not become a fantasy

My problem is that I am claustrophobic and I don't like flying..
I was in Australia in February...and well, I can say that the flight was terrible (more than 20 hours in a plane .... ... if you see what I mean ).
Not easy when you like travelling )

Yes it's interesting for European people to go there
(1EUR +/- 1,43dollar)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DocSonian In reply to franzoise [2009-08-02 01:35:46 +0000 UTC]

that is a big prob
fear of flying and you like to travel
that is tough

yes...for one Europa wins on the cash deal with the Yankees.
we deserve all this

Yes it is tough but not really insurmountable
As one of my friends says " no problems...just solutions"
